Lift Kit Suggestions
« Reply #-1 on: April 10, 2017, 08:41:08 PM »

Hey guys, got an '04 TJ 4.0 5 speed that is in desperate need of some ground clearance.  I don't want to go more than 3" on the lift (want to keep it low and stable) but I also want some decent flex.  Not sure if I should go with a short arm lift, or save up some extra money and pull the trigger on a long arm.  Suggestions on brand or setup?

Thanks,
Nick

3 inch should be able to keep it mostly stock  as for brand it can make you crazy. Just don't go cheap, find something mid range. Try BDS or something

Met a few guys with TJ's on BDS, never heard major complaints.

Cool, thanks. I'll definitely keep BDS in mind.

Wish I've done more with the TJ we had before. Always a fun jeep, especially after we installed those Toyo tires. Been kicking myself selling it.

Would be cool to see the progress and result of your build. Enjoy

Check out Rancho 2.5 lift kit. They offer great product and you can pair it with their adjustable 9000 series shocks.
Good luck.

They are all about the same.  I put Teraflex on my TJ 19 years ago.   No problems since.  If you have questions , message me or look me up at the next meetup.

You will spend 3x as much but Zone lift is hard to beat in terms of quality and functionality.
